SMSF Valuations |
SMSF Property Rules |
||
These valuations are conducted to comply with and benefit to the members of the Super Fund. Buying a property to rent out is a popular form of long-term investment in Australia. Houses and units are easier to understand than many other types of investments, yet they do have some issues you need to be aware of. Consider buying an investment property in an area you are familiar with as it will take you less time to research. Get a Valuer to value the property you are interested in to avoide overpaying. |
You can only buy property through your SMSF if you comply with the rules. (1) Must meet the 'sole purpose test' of solely providing retirement benefits to fund members, (2) Must not be acquired from a related party of a member, (3) Must not be lived in by a fund member or any fund members' related parties and (4) Must not be rented by a fund member or any fund members' related parties. |
